I kinda liked event horizon as well. And Bill & Ted.
And, though from experience many will disagree (and already have here), I kinda liked War of the Worlds. At least the first two thirds of the movie. At least in the cinema, with the sound design, I could really "feel" the oppressive desperation of mankind. It just came across very atmospheric and immersive to me.
I couldn't name a worst sci-fi movie, though :/ I probably forgot the ones I liked least. |

I just remembered a bad one!
Mission Stardust
As a fan of the perry rhodan universe (though I haven't read any of it for years xD) I'm kinda torn. It's sooooo bad.. really really bad. It's still kinda awesome, though xD
I'm usually very alone with that latter opinion. |

So many concepts used by different movies, I feel one shouldn't judge just because of the "living the same day again and again" premise. Then again, it IS sort of an arbitrary thing. Unless maybe they give an explanation as to why it's happening. I'd love to see a good one.
Oh well, based on the trailer it does seem a bit run of the mill. Hero/Underdog in impossible/weird situation, gets trained, becomes good, some romance maybe, much heroism, big booms. Could still be entertaining, though. |

Unsuccessful At Everything wrote:[...] I also loved the Ender's Game novels... and died inside when I saw the movie.
I only read the first novel and really liked it. I didn't dare watch the movie, although opinions on it seem to differ strongly. |
